Right  now  I'm  celebrating  the  fact  that  I  didn't  get  SKY  so  I  could  watch ( so  very  nearly  said  enjoy yell)  the  England  v West Indies  test  cricket.  After  all  the  wonderful  reports  of  how  the  team  is  building  up  into  a  World  Beating  Side  it  seems  that  it's  just  another  race  to  the  pits.  I'm  getting  the  feeling  that  watching  Sunday  football  between  a  couple  of  over age  pub  teams  will  bring  much  more  excitement  &  pleasure  until  Easter Egg  Rolling  commences  wink

Ahh! You spotted the deliberate πŸ˜‰ I think Holder should be English, just like Jofra and then for the first time ever, we'd have the top 2 ranked all-rounders, in the same team πŸ‘πŸ˜€

The contest between Stokes and he is a fascinating one, with our man just slightly ahead after today's play (good catch by Jofra, too)

Did you know there's more than one six o'clock in a day Brian? πŸ˜‰

And so we start tomorrow 99 runs behind.............."The bowlers Holder, the batsmen's Burns" doesn't quite have the same ring as Holding and Willey πŸ˜‚

Oh no! My last reply was on 'Nelsons!'

David Robert Shepherd would've been hopping around the crease and no doubt, a wicket or two would fall..........Arrrrgggh! Not just one or two.... It's another collapse!!

12:15 hrs

West Indies 7 runs for 1.5 wickets ( Campbell is retired wounded at present !!! Hope he's not related to another W.I. batter who terrified bowlers if he started limping etc  laughing )

Think I'll take a tablet so I can enjoy a decent lunch in an hours time  wink

Brian don't you know it's all part of a great master plan. Lose the first test: lull  the opposition into a false sense of security and steamroller them for the rest of the seriesπŸ€“

I think YOU should have had that pill, Rog, you young scamp wink !!

I heard the TMS scorer say that England & Wales Cricket Team never lost the First match of a summer series from ca 1996 to 2017  but have done that in two of the last three  !! These newer players would not have lasted three overs in the nets under Closey and others of that vintage believe me  yell !!

Now we are about to see the latest standard confirmed  { I'd not like to be stood, standing between the faster bowlers and young Broad should they meet in a darkened area  !! }

Doomed, doomed, we're all Doomed Mr Mainwaring  cry

P.S. / EDIT :--  Roger this is not part of a plan at all, just the result of poor crikkiters being selected  frown !!

17:55   One { 1 } run needed  and  taken.

West Indies  go one nil  up and deservedly so !!

I'll have to wait till Thursday to see if they can do a better job, E & W that is frown

Well played West Indies, a thoroughly deserved victory !!

A much better, if slow, performance by the English batsmen. They will have to continue in the same vein tomorrow, though a total of over 300 could be a good target, as the pitch is already starting to break up a little.

I think it's looking good for England & Wales at present.  Some of the W. Indians are shewing signs of tiredness ~~  I think they have not had enough time on the practise grounds, alas.  I'm not criticising them 'cos I really think they are proper little heroes, all of 'em, for turning out to play this series at all !!

Agree with your last statement, but our lads haven't had a lot of proper practice either. Neither side could be called match fit yet.

We've managed to post a decent total today, but the WI could well have been 2 wickets down at the close as we missed out on a video appeal I think.

OH  I've been such a good boy this w/end smile!! Never once have I been grumpy or acidic over the crikkit ( Granted I ain't posted since 16th  !! )

  Well I would be good wouldn't I coz E & W have just beaten W. I. in the second LockDown Test of 2020 !!

Now We've got to build ourselves up for Test 3 starting on Friday  !!

##  Sunshine, Sunshine Happy Day,  Off to the Cricket Match I'm Away,
