The Yorkshire Dales National Park was extended today, to take over a chunk of Cumbria......and a bit of Lancashire. The nice bit, obviously.....

(Is there a nice bit? Undecided)

Whoa, steady on now, Cumbria is Cumbria, Yorkshire is Yorkshire, the area is part of the National park-they ain't Yorkshire folk. Let it happen once & the whole Country will want in. . . .The United Kingdom of Yorkshire, really?, NO!!!. Being Yorkshire Folk is a state of mind not a land grab. No offenceHappy

Write your comments here...Yeh but think about it Rocky-we could set up as a tax haven and make a killing-a Cayman Islands but with rain and obstinacy;Heaven on Earth?

Ah, but Cumbria is not Cumbria ... and Yorkshire is not Yorkshire Winking  Cumbria was only formed in 1974 from Cumberland, Westmorland, Lancashire (over the sands) and a bit of Yorkshire Sealed

We have got to try and do better this Olympics though, only managed 12th place in medal table!

The HS2 fun started last night. Pensioner punch up in a rather lovely village that those idiots in London decided needed to be demolished for the thousands of desperate commuters wanting to shave a couple of minutes off travelling to a meeting! Like Internet conferencing hasn't been invented!
