I need to buy the wife something for Christmas ,do I,

1, get her a set a saucepans that we can both benefit from

2, some jewellery ,that only she will benefit from , or

3 , some new tools for the shed that she will throw back at me , but at least I would not have wasted my money, and I can benefit fromUndecidedSurprisedFrown

It can be very annoying  when you've been good and listened to the OH's heart desire and then they go out and buy it anyway

Hubby and I are at that age now where we really don't bother with presents for Xmas or birthdays we seem to have what we need or want when we want or need it

! Occasionally if we want something extravagant for the house or decide to buy a new car we will  if we feel slightly guilty after we just say "well that's our joint Xmas birthday and anniversary present for a while " Wink

I try to give out subtle hints, and after all these years my nearest and dearest are good at picking them up. If there is something I really would like and would prefer to pick the model etc myself, then I ask (camera last year). As it's "double do's" for me (Birthday today), my husband is glad he only has to think of one present. But this year it's a Birthday and Christmas present in one (new speaker system), but I got a Toblerone this morning!

I usually just get some money or a voucher with a box of chocs. Last year he excelled himself, He bought me a Pandora necklace   and I love it. It was such a surprise. This year I've hinted on a Pandora hanging charm to go on it.
