Hai all

I remember a couple of years ago someone started a thread about what outfit  people had. I found it quite interesting and I know some of us have changed since then so I will start off.

2018 Lunar Cosmos 544 towed by a 2009 Volvo V70. This is our new out fit as we recently went back to caravnning after 4 years with a motorhome.

A VW Passat Alltrack B7 (2013) TDi with DSG hopefully keeping in front of a 2016 Sprite Quattro EW Dealer special 'Freestyle' version. Started in 2013 with a SEAT Toledo 2006 TDi towing a similar vintage Eccles Europa 2 berth, followed 9 months later by A Freelander 2 (that only lasted 11 months) towing another Eccles 4 berth from 201. After life towing that with an Audi A6 estate we swapped both around the same time into the current outfit in June 2016 - that was an expensive month! No current plans to change for a few years although we personally like the very latest Sprite interiors. The Alltrack as a towcar is a reasonable compromise - not exciting and not upto Audi quality or driving enjoyment but is roomy, has 4wd, auto, and pulls well and all without getting into SUV territory. The Quattro is currently the perfect layout for the two of us (+ dog), very roomy, good bed, well specced for the money, just the 50 shades of beige interior we would prefer not to have.

Bailey Pageant Sancerre (2009) towed by Ford Kuga (2015) with the 180 bhp engine. The Bailey has had its faults (relatively minor) but adore the fixed double bed and end washroom for the two of us. Kuga is more than capable tow car and bought after trusty Mondeo struggled/bogged down on wet/muddy ground! No problems since with 4 wheel drive and will sit all day at 60mph up hill and down dale.

2016 Swift Bolero 684 Lounge with 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge and Ridgback and Trek push bikes. The layout of the Bolero is ideal for us two, plus cat, and is the 3rd MH we have had with this layout. Looking to change the car this year, probably for a C1 or an UP.

We have a 2 year old Swift Conqueror 480, a 2 berth end washroom layout. We don't have an awning, but have an Isabella shadow sun canopy for the summer months. Very much small space living, but fine for us.

Towed with a 6 month old Range Rover Velar D180.

Outfit probably cost more than we paid for the house, but we did buy the house many years ago!

2017 Sprite Major 4 EB, pulled by a 2016 Kuga 177ps Titanium Sport.

Love em both, even though the Kuga is very new to us,

Previously had the Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ

We sold our Ace Milano Nouvella motorhome recently (lack of funds) but didn't want to stop camping.  Had to work with our current car which probably isn't the most obvious choice of towcar, but we seem to have hit upon a pleasing solution.  So we have a 1.4 turbo (120bhp) Vauxhall Meriva, which has max towing limit set by Vauxhall at 1050kg/75kg noseweight.  Now towing a 2012 Elddis Vogue (Xplore) 304 (max weight 1030kg).  We've only done an overnight trip to Chapel Lane for NEC show (about 90miles), and we were far from fully loaded, but all worked together very happily and averaged 28mpg on the trip.  It was identified as a good match on the various tow matching systems, possibly finding mountains trickier.  Not sure the car would be so happy full of adults, but we travel 1 adult/1 child/1 cat so works out well.  First 'proper' trip (with new awning) coming up soon, so will be heavier loads, but don't anticipate issues.  Shame we can't fit our bikes anymore, but we have the new adventure of having a car with us to look forward to.

Having owned and been very happy with an Eriba Puck L for the last 5 years we decided at the end of last year we needed just a bit more room and an on board loo. We wanted to stay small and light so we are now the proud owners of  a well kept 7 year old Lunar Ariva which we will tow with a C4 Picasso diesel. Our first trip out will be the second week of April so wish us luck.
