Thanks for your good wishes for Harry, millie, TG and Ian. He's come round a bit now, enough to clamber up on the sofa next to me! And I've given him a few minutes respite from the lampshade so that he can curl up comfortably. He doesn't seem too irritated by the wound at the moment and isn't trying to lick it which is what the vet was concerned about. So fingers crossed!

Posted on 09/01/2017 18:15 by moulesyJust back from the vets with Harry, poor thing. His foot problem was more serious than we thought! The vet has made an incsion into the swelling and found 3 small grey objects, she's not sure what they are but they just look like tick bodies but with no heads - very nasty! He's very subdued tonight and has to keep a lampshade collar on for the next 3 days which is going to be fun!Painkillers, antiinflammatory and antibiotics and then back for another check on Thursday. Happy days!

Posted on 09/01/2017 19:52 by huskydogIf Harry doesn't like his lampshade collar ,you can get inflatable collars, which can be less stressful for the dog ,but do the same job

Posted on 08/01/2017 16:06 by WherenextSpent part of the day looking at the paintings of Peter Brown, known locally as Pete the Street, as he is often seen painting street scenes of Bath. There is an exhibition of his recent paintings on at the Victoria Art Museum and Gallery and Mrs WN (whose birthday it is today and therefore gets to choose the itinerary for the day) wanted to see it.
Must admit I really like his style. Prices are another thing altogether but the man has talent. On until the end of the month if anyone interested.
Rest of day spent finding one of the spots where he did a painting from so she could do a quick sketch herself.

Posted on 08/01/2017 21:08 byOH and I were going off to meet up with friends for a walk and lunch. Decided to take the X-Trail rather than the Yaris to give it a run - not been used since 29th December when we returned from December break. A few miles down the road just doing 60 in the second lane of the dual carriageway way when there was a bang and the driver's side front dipped down coupled with a slightly rough ride.
Front 3 month old tyre ripped right through the centre for most of its circumference.
The front coil spring had broken and ripped the tyre. No walk and pub lunch and instead home on a low loader.
At least it didn't happen on the way back from hols with the caravan 58 miles earlier I suppose!
