Got back from Fisher Field yesterday after a great weekend away.  Downside is van is filthy bit that will have to wait, more important jollities to enjoytongue-out House more or less decorated although not bothering with outside

For a good, and relatively quiet, upright cleaner, I can recommend a Sebo.

Excellent suction and good edge cleaning. Also very sturdy.

Depends what your flooring is.

For carpets OH tells me she prefers an upright.

But for hard floors the cylinder is better.

I would second that. We have had ours well over ten years. Previously had a Miele which I think my son still has. Never been a great fan of Dyson cleaners but it has been a few years since I had anything to do with selling them.

Thanks for your feedback on the Dyson V6.  We haven't got the whole house carpeted so perhaps it will be OK for us.  I agree that the small collector compartment fills up very quickly.  No doubt time will tell.
