And me!! You couldn't make it up, could you?
Heddlo - I think the Cow Shed is open again - we didn't go in because of the lure of the F&C, but there was an A-board outside saying we are open (I think) Wednesday to Sunday. It looked deserted - but not surprising considering the weather and time of year. I know they were struggling to get the staff - which isn't surprising considering that long, windy single-track road which is hardly part-time - non-driving teenager - friendly, is it? I do hope it gets back on its feet, though.

Posted on 08/11/2023 15:32 by DEBSCHousework and a pile of ironing for me today. The fallen leaves are building up in the garden so will need to have a day out there soon. With a woods at the end of our garden it always takes 3 or 4 days over time to clear them. Chicken casserole bubbling in the slow cooker as one of our granddaughters is arriving to stay for a couple of days.
OH has contacted BGas this afternoon, he was 249 in the queue waiting to talk to them on their chat box. He has applied twice to get their advertised Sunday half price electric. The advert is the one on tv with the 2 Olympians in. They have now said that we can’t get it as customers have to be ‘invited’ for it!! No mention of this at all in the advert, extremely misleading.

DEBSC, we had an email back in the summer from BG inviting us to apply for the offer, I thought it was open to all customers with a smart meter. 🤔 They then extended the offer up until the end of December, like you say no mention in the advert about it not being available to all customers.

Happy Birthday to Meg 🥳🥳 hope she enjoyed the doggy cake.
Very quiet at work today, had time to catch up with of the filing, not my favourite of job's ☹
Our little Grand-daughter has chicken pox, poor love is covered in spots, although she apparently isn't too poorly.
Have been sorting through my baby knitting patterns, our neighbour is expecting a baby next year, and it will probably take me until then to complete anything .🤣

Posted on 09/11/2023 00:55 by DSBThinking of booking a few days up at Southport CAMC site. Never been here, so thought we would give it a go. Anyone been? Just looking for a few days peace and quiet, to be honest... 🙂

Birthday greetings to Meg, R&R. Our Flyte will be 11 next April, and he does now like his sleep, but still pulls hard when we are out. We cannot let him off the lead very often nowadays, as he is blind, but he has adapted very well both at home and in the caravan since it happened.
Helen, hope your granddaughter soon gets over her chicken-pox.

Tonight's the start of catching up on gigs we missed last year (when Henry's hip was in a very bad way). So Bionic Man and I are off to Harrogate Royal Hall to see Show of Hands. It's the start of their final tour as a band so there's no way we could miss it. Seats in the middle of the front row.
Four more gigs before Christmas (but nearer home, so no hotels) and then six before Easter. Living life to the full!

Oh!!! the joys of Southport...I am a Blackburn boy and we used to cycle to Southport, almost 30 miles, saddle bags full of jam butties, bottle of pop and a slice of mums fruit loaf, saddle bags empty we would return home filling the saddle bags with apples from the orchards we passed on the way, the joys.
Scarborough....again as a boy we used to holiday at a small holiday village on the top of the cliffs at North Bay (Scalby Mills) sadly now a housing estate. We used to swim at the mouth of the river at Scalby Mills as it was always fairly deep even at low tide, more recently, well when our tribe were very young, i remember pulling into a site just outside Scarborough that said no children but the kind lady on reception allowed us to stay provided the children were good, we stayed in a converted railway carriage and had a splendid time.
Not a lot happening in Stubbers, we seem to be having lots of rain at present, so we are keeping busy getting ready for Christmas, we will have at least 2 celebrations this year, Spanish daughter is coming for first week in December and is expecting Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and then we will be with our local daughter on Christmas day.
Christmas tree is ordered along with some hyacinths in twinkly pots, love the smell of hyacinths used to grow my own from bulbs when we lived in Scotland but not done so since we moved south, OH off to scrabble club this afternoon, she is learning how to play again after her stroke, she is very good, i have stopped playing as i feel there are now too many dubious words that are allowed, she has 2 A4 sheets of these some i have never ever come across.

We are on the look out for gigs and other events at the moment. Local band The Reytons are doing an open air gig next year in local park, but we thought tickets were a bit expensive for a relatively new (2021) band. They are good though. Last concert in same place was a few years ago (T.Rex🤣, and yep, we went.) Sting is on tour as well, love The Police and Sting on his own, tickets same price as Reytons, so I think,it might be Sting for us. We are off to see Eddie Izzard on the 22nd, last saw him a long time ago, pre transition, but he’s bound to be very funny. Then there’s National Cycling Championships (Olympic selection for Paris) over in Manchester in February, got tickets for this. Just pondering England v Brazil next March at the moment🤔 It’s at Wembley, but we could take MH to Wyatts Covert🤔

Wow!! 110 sites is some going, Wherenext..... that's about half.
Actually David you could probably take about 10 off that figure as they are/were AS sites, which shouldn't count. Most of them winter stop offs. There's also a few Club sites that were 1 or 2 nights, but visited all the same.
The ladies wanted various things from town so drove them in whilst I returned and washed the car. Then returned to town to pick them up and visit the library. MiL needed to return this afternoon so yet another trip as buses almost non existent in afternoons.
Leaves are falling from the woods at the rear. Not a heavy fall as yet so I'll leave it awhile to clear up.
