How come you don't live in the Grand Hotel in Brighton, instead of a caravan, Malcolm?

Their prices must be reasonable, because a lot of people stay there......

Posted on 24/12/2016 19:53

Unfortunately, I don't seem to have that kind of money, Ian. I'm sure it must be lovely to stay there and have all that service though!

Ahh so you checked the prices and compared with other options......and didn't just book in there.

Interesting........

I  never  fail  to  come  away  from  there  without

feeling  calmer  &  more  at  peace  with  the  world

than  when  I  started  out  even  tho  the  mere

itself  has  been  cut  into  two  parts  by  the  M 6  !!

Are you saying the Caravan Club over-charge members for car insurance? Surely not. The price must surely be fair if other members insure through the club.

Malcolm

I have never been convinced the Caravan Club offer good value for car insurance. My insurance is due in January so I got a few quotes. SAGA £230, CC £370, how can there be so much difference?

That does seem a big difference, David. Maybe I should have shopped around.

It's ages since I looked at hotel prices, Ian. As long as I have a caravan, there isn't any need for a hotel! The last time we stayed in a hotel was for one night in March 2015 before we got the new caravan and it cost £70 for just one night. Now I'm paying £13 a night in site fees because of using the caravan. A lot less!

Malc, I would suggest that the majority on here would tell you there is no "MAYBE" about it.

You really should have shopped around, but, ho hum bit late now I suppose??

Enjoy your break from work & Happy Christmas.

I woke up early this morning. Daylight has arrived now but grey skiesfrownFeeling a bit more refreshed this morning having spent most of yesterday falling asleep!

On the day before Christmas Eve, we managed to buy a small frozen turkey from Tesco that fits our oven so no problem to make a proper Christmas dinner with all the trimmings! Christmas pud as well plus cheese and biscuits.

Merry Christmas Malcolm, enjoy your Turkey. We are off for a walk later and then to see mum in the nursing home. Christmas dinner for us isn't, till about 8:00 pm, as youngest son is a chef and busy cooking others Christmas dinners until then.
