Anyway had a lovely walk this morning, seeing loads of Redwings and Fieldfares in the lanes around the village. Nice and sunny today.

Just off to do some baking. Mince Pie day!

I think my cough is starting to ease a bit today. Yesterday it was so painful to cough and there was some right muck coming up. I find myself nodding off but that could be the painkillers I'm taking for the knee. Most of the days are the same at the moment physio exercises every four hours, painkillers every six ,10 or 11 hours in bed. Roll on Spring😴

We've been shopping for the non perishable Christmas stuff, plus a weeks worth of "normal" food etc.

Yesterday I did some essential stock taking on the drinks shelf, and discovered I only had 14 different Gins. Now augmented to 18.

A useful mantra - you can never have too many shoes/scarves/handbags/types of Gin.

On the far right of the shelf are a few bottles of Whisky (in case you thought I neglected my husband!).

Mine too.  My cough (and cold) started on the 1st December, and between then and now has been awful, really awful, terrible, diabolical, incapacitaing, and is now back to really awful again!  But that's an improvement and at least my chest only aches a bit now. Fortunately I don't have any knee issues either!

Today we've been collecting greenery for Christmas decorating, visiting a Christmas Fayre, when we won £1 on 'Ferret Roulette' (put a ferret in a dustbin, and if it comes out through the tube you pick, you get your money back and a pound!) then we had a walk around Skipton, bought a few more presents, and back home to finish decorating the house.

Now we're chilling (or warming up, it's freezing again here) in front of the wood-burner, before a meal of chilli and lime prawns (starter), steak with peppercorn sauce, saute potatoes, green beans and broccoli (main) and raspberry and chocolate torte with fresh raspberries and blueberries (pudding).  Then it might have to be a wine, or a gin (or two or three) - purely medicinal of course!

well, ended up going over to Montacute House for the evening 'light up' of the house, really quite spectacular with all the multi coloured changing floodlights hightlighting the massive exterior of this magnificent Eleizabethan property.

quick glass of red in the Kings Arms then home for a little roast beef....
