Day off from DIY today, and a half day off yesterday too. Instead we made soup for all the family coming to lunch today.
New recipe that OH found on line.....roasted butternut, sweet potato and carrot, with onions and garlic. It was delicious!
Tomorrow will be another short day as we are going out for lunch apparently, then back to the work on Tuesday, more painting no doubt.

Nice morning wandering round Barrington Court just as it opened, the tree colours are so good this year, must get myself to Stourhead soon. Catch up in the garden this afternoon, me, planting bulbs and OH getting the leaves up. He's bought a leaf sucker and blower, a bit noisy but it makes sense and saves a lot of raking day after day, we have a lot of trees, so a lot of leaves.

A misty start to the day but the sun soon burnt it off. Drove up to Minions Car Park on Bodmin Moor and we were out for over 3 hours, mostly in glorious sunshine although a mist did come across for a short while. Walked up to the Cheesewring Stones on Stowe Hill, past the Boundary Stone to the old quarry where had lunch, across Craddock Moor to one of the old copper mine pup house then through The Hurlers, stone circles, to the Heritage centre at South Phoenix Mine and finished off the walk with a circuit along the old track ways. Managed an hour sat out in the sun at the van before dinner.

Glad to see that Mrs OP hasn't suffered any trauma from all those youngsters earlier in the week.
Brue, we visited Stourhead this time last year, and although the trees were in their autumn colours, we didn't think that it was as spectacular as the last time we were there. Don't know if we'll get there or not in a week or so.
WN, I bet you'll be glad when all the ground work's complete, although there's bound to be more work to be done, I'm sure.

Just looking in on CT, The OH's pacemaker procedure didn't take place so went through the apprehension then the disappointment.
Today saw me pack up the boat for the winter, just in case we get that phone call to say that there is a date for the procedure. Caravan is likewise in hibernation.
Travelling to the boat club in the Trossachs the autumn colours were stunning!

Hi Nellie.
Sounds like you're having fun.
I think this week should see us done, fingers crossed. Might have to take MIL to Manchester to see how her brother is getting on but apart from a couple of medical appts we may get away soon, just in time for the snow.

All going well so far, although driving round some of the roads round here does certainly keep one on one toes. We leave Cornwall on Wednesday and head back into Devon and what will probably our only CC site this trip.
Any ideas of where you'll be going next trip to get a bit of sledging in?
