We're just getting all our camping equipment together to be packed into the car ready for our two nights away camping with our tent. It's trying to remember all the things we'll need as it's so long ago when we last went camping. The campsite we'll be staying on is £13 a night including electric. So the two nights away will cost us £26. The equivalent of one days wages at dinnertogo!

It's going to be fun as we'll be working during our camping stay. So it means coming back to the tent, after work, late at night and cooking our dinner on the camping hob!

Rather you than me Malcolm, Undecided your wife deserves a medal! Innocent

Been to Aldi to do the shopping , as we are off to Stamford tomorrow,  Happy stocked up with wine too.  Treated myself to a pair of their crocks, much cheaper than the real thing! Surprised

Weather very warm and muggy,  but no storms so far.

Car going in tomorrow for the propshaft to be replaced.  Hope that will solve the noise problem we have.  Time is running short before our holiday.  Hope it will be solved in time.

David

Well - car went in for propshaft yesterday.  No joy!  Still unacceptable noises coming from the car.  Next thing: Transfer box.  Managed to pick up a new transfer box yesterday for under a grand!!!  Expensive, but a bargain!  It goes in Friday for it to be fitted.  If this doesn't work, goodness knows what next!!  This is getting dangerously near our holiday!  At this stage, I'm beginning to wonder if we'll make it....  Don't cry

David

That is getting serious, David! Sad

Really hope that the transfer box sorts it out. It's awful when something goes wrong just before a holiday......but often means that everything then goes well, after all the stress.

Good luck!

Thanks Ian, and Brue for the sympathy.  We seem to be having one of those times when everything seems against us.  Hope things will improve soon.

David

Write your comments here...Oh David i do feel for you, before we went away everything seemed to go wrong, it was one thing after another. Hopefully everything will get sorted then you will be away and enjoying yourselves. Just think that by the time you get there France will have dried outWink

Finally making our first trip to a CC site. Have done CLs and private sites but now bound for Broadway in the Cotswolds on Saturday for 15 nights. Got a couple of extra days off work to get the 'van spick and span and fill him up with life's essentials...Very excited! Never been anywhere on holiday for this long and looking forward to it immensely. Happy

Been and put my cross in the box Smile.  Took my brolly with me but the Gods were benelovent Happy.  Shower again now.  Had a noisy night, we were in the motorhome, the drumming of the rain lessened the rolls of thunder.  Flooded roads but got off the grass CL fine.

Catching up on the washing, hoping the forecast is correct for tomorrow, ahead of myself for outdoor drying.

Amazing how the weather can vary so greatly on this small island! We've seen on the news the rain in the SE of England - but it's been another gloriously sunny day here!

Two of our collies had their annual MOTs & boosters at the vets this morning. No problems, thank goodness. We rewarded them with a belated daily run on the beach and have been in the garden this afternoon soaking up the rays!

Cheers
