Weather Reports

Am I the only one struggling to understand why broadcasters are insisting on so many of their reporters standing out in cold and freezing conditions to tell us that .....er.....it's cold and freezing? Do they think we don't know what snow covered roads look like? Or how cold it feels without seeing some poor person standing out there looking thoroughly cheesed off? And presumably these reporters have driven out with a camera crew in spite of any "do not travel" warnings? Makes no sense to me for one!

I was hoping that at least one of the reporters would have asked one of the motorists stuck on the M80

"So, why were so stupid to have ignored the warning not to venture out?"

Our local weather man seemed to have been sent out into the studio garden to do a report. undecided

On our local news, reporter on M27  said it had taken her over an hour an a half to do a 20 minute journey to show us 3 lanes of motorway  covered in snow! yell

No doubt there'll be a report from Dartmoor tomorrow, even though no one is there. wink

One reporter on the local news went out with a meals on wheels service, he didn't impress me but I am very impressed with any service that visits the elderly in these conditions. Some of the customers live in isolated locations and are reliant on the visits from the meal services.

I did that for a couple of years in Scotland, it was very difficult in the hill snow but I always got there and was often the only visitor. Good to see the reporter showing this type of service. smile

Isn't it wonderful that we need severe weather to remind us to call in on the vulnerable and elderly? Or that we only need to think about the homeless in bad weather? Thank goodness for the severe weather eh?

There was one tonight pointing out the cars driving across the Moor when they’d been warned not to venture out. So how did the reporter get there? Hmm. surprised
