I think we're just coming to the end of the worst bit Ruby, lots of stuff flying around. Will have to go and tidy up later. Glad you got to your van in time!

Think we are at or near its peak. Huge roaring like a train or wave on the way before the gust hits. Trees blown and whipped like matchsticks and we live in the town. Conservatory creaking like crazy. Driving back from hairdressers along town dual carriageway large gust whipped up and swirled a lot of leaves before it "stood' them upright close to the road surface and marched them at great speed across the carriageway. Quite amazing! Plenty of large twigs lying around but denifinitely worse now. We've had a fence panel pop out.

Stay safe folks.

Good news on your awning rubytuesday. Are you away or is it on a pitch?

Bit wet and wild here, but nothing major as yet - although high sided vehicles still using the Humber Bridge despite the warnings!   Not that long ago since a wagon was almost blown off the bridge in similar conditions.

The A14, A12 Orwell Bridge is closed for the rest of the day. Ipswich will be in gridlock.

Hubby  said when driving through  it was not nice to see so many vans unetended and those that are on site having a very hard time of it, and as brue has said lots of stuff flying around,

we class ourselfs very fortunate we were able to get there quickly only bought and put awning up just over a week ago

QE2 bridge closed.

It amazes me that professional drivers don't heed warnings. 😯 seems like thought of hurting/killing themselves or other unheeded let alone chaos it causes. I expect police to busy but I do hope they can be identified and fined. I think the lorry driver who closed the Forth Road Bridge got or is being prosecuted one assumes future employers won't touch them for driving again.

Just been out to the shed as I went to come out door whipped from my hand and forced back violently.  Wrenched one screw out of hinge completely and bent two of the three hinges. Good job hubby on hand. Once he'd grabbed hammer I held whilst he walked hinges back and door could be closed. He's risking it again to return paint and cleanse brush 😉

Fencing panel suppliers will be rubbing their hands.smile

Pretty glad we don't live in Capel Curig. Always gets the worst there.
