The cinema sometimes makes a nice change - couple it with a nice meal out?  Saw an ad for 'London has fallen' - looks like a good film??

Excellent idea we do as when travelling in Europe get all shopping done on Saturday and relax on Sunday's. 90% shops over there closed all Sunday's, Bank and Saints Holidays no problem just get prepared.

The short Sunday opening times always catch us out when in England on holiday. As does Sunday closing when abroad.

We generally shop on the way back to the van after a day out, and when retired all days are pretty much the same, so remembering to shop on the Saturday as the next day Sunday is not easy!

Might even get a lie in!

I won't .... I'm working making sure Beanz are able to be canned, and I'll lose an hour in bed too. Sad

HaHa we've been caught out a few times when touring, funny thing is when we lived in Germany many years ago the shops closed at 13.00 on a Saturday until Monday, they also closed at 18.00 every night, we were suprised when we visited 7 years ago how things have changed.

The supermarkets here sort the shifts so weekends are staffed by students or people without children. I'd imagine most do.

No different to a Saturday either. It's just an old fashioned hangover to a world that has long gone

When she was a student, our daughter did the weekend shifts, especially Sundays as there was extra pay involved.

At that time, nobody had to work on a Sunday if they objected on religious grounds, don't know if this is still the case.

......just read some reviews about the film - not good reviews, so scrub that idea, perhaps!

No CY. Easter Sunday has been the exception to the rule since it was introduced. Few shops have ever opened on Easter Sunday. At least in England, as far as I am aware.
