Prefer the first one, so far, more in keeping with my age group and the taste of silver shred marmalade.

How sad that the silent few should determine how  members postYell

Also sad, is the fact that they must have viewed this thread, but didn't have the good manners to mention it to golly, who I'm sure would have changed his avatar without any fuss.

The silent moaners remind me of members who leave a bad review of a site without talking about their complaints with the Warden/Owner.

Keyboard warriors are very often cowards in real life....

Sorry,......rant over, if the persons who were offended would have the courage to post their feelings I would show them a little respect..........Cool

I am with you there BT. Just had a post closed where I cracked a joke (possibly in bad taste i.e non PC) but it wasn't racist, political, sexist nor religious.

Political Correctness should be outlawed!  Its caused more trouble than the perceived problems that it has tried to correct.

Thank you golly79 for changing your profile picture and I really appreciate your understanding with this matter. As mentioned to you, I know that no offence was intended however we do ask in the guidelines for people, ‘not to use avatars, pictures or images that could upset other people – although it may not offend you, please take a moment to consider whether other people may find it offensive.’

I know as a community we do not want to upset or offend anyone. The image of a golly is offensive to some people, given the history surrounding them, and I know no one would want to deliberately cause upset or offence so I ask for people’s understanding on this matter as we need to ensure Club Together is a friendly and welcoming place to be.

As such I will now close this discussion but thank you to those for your understanding and I appreciate everyone’s support.
