Thinking it’s about time to change the mattress on our bed at home and wondered if anyone had brought one like the  ‘Emma’ which is advertise on TV, a hundred night trial and if not satisfied just return.

if you have purchased similar what’s your view.

Thanks in anticipation

Mattresses are a very personal choice and if as a couple you like the same type of mattress that is a bonus!!! Not heard of the Emma mattress but it appears not to to be a pocketed spring? We like a fairly firm mattress and funnily enough before Christmas we purchased a new bed. We went for an Ortho Support pocketed spring mattress from John Lewis and we have been pleased with it so far.

Just watched a video of them making one ,and it appears to be just layers of foam ,so wonder wether the support will enough, and after a time will  the foam will break up , it seemed a lot of money for foam , but would want to see one in the flesh to fully make a firm decision

As David says mattresses really are very personal items. We changed ours a couple of years ago and spent a good hour and a half in John Lewis actually testing every one we fancied. The saleslady was a mine of good information and we were glad we tried them out as our preferred choice before entering the shop turned out to be awful.

We are very happy with the one we bought. It's deep pocketed sprung with a cashmere topping which provides warmth.

We changed our bed a couple of years ago, never thought to check but the mattress is so heavy we can hardly move it or turn it over. It has a summer and winter side. I think some of the latex based ones etc don't have to be turned?

At the moment we're sleeping on two mattresses, one on top of the other, and on top again we've had to put a mattress topper!  We're decorating 'our' bedroom (or were before we both started with flu) and temporarily put the mattress on the spare room bed as we couldn't find anywhere to store it where it was clean and dry enough, or where it wasn't in the way.  It's still there!  Then we sold our 'local' caravan and had to clear it out, so home came the mattress topper - and again there was a problem of where to store it.  The bed is fully made up, now of course, and we're sleeping on it!  It's actually surprisingly comfortable, but I do feel a bit like 'the Princess and the pea'!

Don't know about the Emma - or the Eve which is another highly advertised mattress doing the rounds of TV ads at the moment.

Thanks all.

Obviously I understand mattresses are a personal preference but really after anyone who had purchase said advertised mattresses

We have a Tempur mattress which suits us fine. The base of the mattress is firm foam with a top layer of soft memory foam. It is heavy but does not need flipping over due to its construction.

Tempur have a long warranty and I’ve a feeling they do some sort of try it and see offer. Get yourself to a shop and try it out, One. smile

Some mattress reviews in the Indy here including the Emma they seem quite positive about it. Having read a bit more about it I don't think it would be the sort of mattress I would like because you seem to sleep in it rather than on it if you see what I mean! However we are all different and personal comfort is more important than other peoples sleeping preferences. Whilst I can see that the 100 night return option is good, like Wherenext I would always want to try a mattress in a shop first before making a decision. We all spend a lot of time in bed!
