Wonder how I and thousands of others managed in the early 1960's passing their test in the UK then being let loose on unrestricted German autobahns!

I think it's covered by the Book of Common Prayer - "the quick and the dead". Also applies to the Place de Etoile. wink

Well,  we  have  had  40  hours  when  L drivers  could  be  given  driving  lessons  on  motorways  smile  and  I've  not  heard  of  any  major  problems  yet,  so  I'm  hoping  this  ones  going  to  be  success  !!

Some nutty driving instructor drove 100 miles from Cornwall to the nearest motorway at Exeter at midnight to give his pupil a m/way lesson. He wants to go down in the annals of history as being the first Cornish instructor to teach a learner on the m/way.undecided

How much good it did the pupil in view of the road being near empty at that time of night, I don’t know.

It takes all sorts. surprised

I presume if you live on Shetland you and the instructor will have to put the car on the ferry overnight and then drive to Perth for a go on the M90? Possibly a three day round trip involved....wink

I've  not  read  the  actual  rules  on  this,  but  I'm  assuming ( dangerous  thing  to  do  I  know )  that  it  is  Optional  &  not  Compulsory.  And  having  taken  a  lesson  or  two  on  the  m-ways  is  it  then  tested  as  such  ??
