My I-Pad keyboard has suddenly decided to split itself into two parts with a gap in middle!!Have tried looking in settings for a solution but no luck, anyone know how to sort it?

It's not a problem, Dave. You have inadvertently activated Split Keyboard.

Go to the down arrow bottom right of the keyboard which you use for hiding the keyboard but, instead of tapping it, tap and hold and select Dock and Merge from the options. All will be well.

Settings /  general  / keyboard  / split keyboard

That enables the ability to select a Split Keyboard but doesn't activate the split/merge.

Mmmmm....strange.

Just had a look and 'split keyboard' was already selected as 'on', but my keyboard isn't split. And flipping the 'switch' doesn't appear to make any difference.

See my post above in reply to Freelander, Ian. The 'switch' in Settings only gives you the option of selecting split keyboard via the keyboard (as explained in my first post).

In short - Settings enables the use of the option whilst the keyboard control activates the actual split of merge function.

Do you know, I'd never even noticed that button?

You live and learn.

You do indeed. I found out by trial, error and logic.

Try the button and see. It's easily reversed.

When I press the bottom right button merge and dock and merge appear briefly but unable to press either as they vanish, the split screen makes typing with thumbs easyLaughingThanks for all help
