Posted on 05/02/2017 19:35 by IanHI understand that he was a footballist many years ago. Not done anything notable for many years though......if he ever did do anything notable.

He has done a lot of charity work as well, his last 5 month contract in France with PSG he donated all his salary to local charities. he is also a founder od charity Malaria no more and has also supported Unicef since his Manchester United days so possibly thinks he should be Knighted as much for his charitable work as his football career.

Well, if just some of the newspaper stories are true, he isn't quite the angel that he makes himself out to be.......question marks about his tax arrangements, using his charity to pay his expenses, unreasonable demands when agreeing to public appearances.
Yes, he does appear to do a certain amount of charity work.......if making an appearance somewhere is considered to be work. But it would seem that much of this has been in order to try to get himself a knighthood.
The sooner such meaningless gongs are done away with, the better.

I've no idea where these stories come from. I'm just surprised that folk get so exercised over this sort of celebrity tittle-tattle which I should imagine is more suited to the pages of Hello magazine or Loose Women on TV ( not that I have any experience of either of those!) Smiley smiley.

I think it's a particularly British thing M not to focus on the positive just the negative. It may make folk think less of their own shortcomings perhaps. I wonder what is is about the multi millionaire successful ex footballer & businessman David Beckham that upsets some folk so much
