It's always been the same in u k praise and put them up there , then have great fun knocking them down again,
read so many different reports / stories by press about these tampered with emails difficult to know what to believe , celebrity's like the Beckhams are always targeted by someone and so many untruths told , some reporter seems to always know more than another and they always have some inside infirmation ,
The Beckhams are keeping a dignified silence , and letting police and lawyers handle it , good on him

Yes it has always been the same......make yourself a mint from an insubstantial activity (footballing, being considered fashionable, being a 'celebrity'.......whatever) but then try to attach yourself to a charitable cause in order to get yourself a gong.
Added bonus......it helps the tax situation and is a good means of covering a lot of your daily living expenses - just put it all down to "charitable work".
But such people will always have their slavish supporters......so that's fine.
Incidentally, if the Beckhams are keeping a 'dignified silence' it must either be because they are out of the country for the required number of days to avoid paying UK tax.......or perhaps because neither of them has ever said anything of interest in their lives.

Nothing has been proven yet, as to the contents of the emails being true or false , so why is it nessasery for him/ them to speak out and admit or deny unproven accusations , as for not having anything interesting to say , well maybe so, but if you have no interests in someone else's life or pastime ( charity work ) that's your choice.

As previously explained......his life and pastime are not 'about charity work'......the charity work is just a tax saving measure, a means of off-setting life's expenses and an attempt at being given a gong.
No different to many other 'celebraties'.

Just to add a more positive comment about David Beckham, some years ago when the Beckhams used to live in the Altringham area, a friend of mine ran a playgroup locally. On Trick or Treat day mums and children from the playgroup went on a Trick or Treat tour to raise funds for the playgroup. One of the houses they called at was the Beckhams. At the gate they were surprised when their ring on the bell was answered by David, on videophone, and he asked if he and his children (not sure which ones) could dress up and join them. They were thrilled, and down he came dressed as a ghost, and the children were also dressed up and joined in. The playgroup, along with David and his children continued around Altringham, and at the end were given a substantial donation to playgroup funds - and invited in to join the Beckhams for a Trick or Treat supper!
Doesn't everyone lose their temper or pay only the taxes 'they should do'? Celebrities are no different from the rest of us, it's just that they have a spotlight on them twenty-four hours a day and can't hide their mistakes from anyone.

At least David Beckham is famous for something. -- Taking an important penalty kick for England in Euro 2004 which missed the goal completely by yards. . Oh yes, there was the deliberate foul on Diago Simone, an Argentine player for which Beckham was sent off in disgrace
. As a Footballist he was worse than useless.
Don't know or care about his finances or private life. I leave that to the Celebrity fanatics.
Behaving like a spoiled kid does nothing for his image.
Cheers.........................K

I think he has been a pretty good Ambassador for the UK, especially in the work he did to help the team secure the 2012 Olympics for London. Whilst everyone may well have an opinion on his worth one should not underestimate the value of having him on your side in such an undertaking because he is so well known worldwide and that clearly has some influence. His football career seems pretty outstanding to me although I am no expert but a bit of research shows that he played 534 top-flight league games played across five countries and 19 seasons and was the only English footballer to score goals in three different World Cups. So seemingly an outstanding career and I doubt that he would have survived long under Alex Ferguson had he not been a half decent player. As to whether he should have a Knighthood that is for others to decide. Something I have noticed is that footballers seem to get such honours much later in life compared to other athletes. Bobby Moore who was perhaps one of our greatest and best known international players didn't get a Knighthood, perhaps because he sadly died too young, but others played with him did but later in life. How you compare whether someone who plays football to say an Olympic medal winner I don't know but I could perhaps have some sympathy for someone who feels he has worked his socks off for his country but has yet to see that rewarded whereas others seem to be rewarded for a lesser contribution.
David
