At this time of year the number of parcels and packages being ordered and more importantly delivered must be astronomical yet i ordered an item from a company in Coventry yesterday and it was deliverd to me by royal mail less than 20 hours later which i think is dam good Happy

What say you

I often think the Royal Mail is unfairly abused. On the whole their service is excellent. Of course if it was posted first class, then your parcel did no more than it was supposed to do. But I do think it is worth praising consistently good service.

We consistently get small parcels the following day by Royal Mail and the postie will even return on their way back to depot if for some reason they couldn't leave it first time. We've had about 5 different post people in the last 10 years and every one of them has been great. So no complaints from me.

I've noticed lots of our recent post has been 2nd class and arrived the next day to the postmark, very pleasing.  I ordered flying flowers, delivered by post, was notified of their despatch yesterday and had a text from the recipent today.  I call that brilliant service.

We don't seem to have a regular postie these days, but often see familar faces.  I'd like to say a BIG thank you to the boys and girls who deliver our post every day, regardless of the weather or time of day, because for the price of a first or second class stamp we get a very reliable service ANYWHERE in the UK. We have a regular postman - a walking one, and a different 'delivering' one at this time of year.  Both are really nice guys and always smiling whatever the weather.

I ordered a parcel late one evening, and it was delivered by mid-afternoon the following day - and I didn't have to pay extra for special delivery!

Some delivery companies use the GPO as a delivery service for the 'Last Mile', So it may be a the delivery service, as a whole, rather than the last bit that has done well!

Or, conversely, The Post Office being last in the line did poorly if it was later than expected.

Good too hear so many good reviews of our postal service which must be under extreme pressure at this time of year.I think that betwen the GPO and the various couries services its made online shopping a good way too go.

We even had the opportunity to collect some of our parcels from Amazon at our local post office which is a 10 minute walk away.  Saved us having to drive 5 miles to the parcels depot if we were out when they tried to deliver.  I was most impressed.  Hopefully it will also benefit our local PO.
