At this time of year the number of parcels and packages being ordered and more importantly delivered must be astronomical yet i ordered an item from a company in Coventry yesterday and it was deliverd to me by royal mail less than 20 hours later which i think is dam good Happy

What say you

Read in the news today, that somebody received a letter from Germany.  It was posted (apparently) on the Friday(?) and delivered on the Wednesday(?).  The address?

"England"

Apparently, it was delivered to the correct person in this country.  They think there was a label, but which had come off

My Postie is unfailingly cheerful and helpful too. He never bats an eyelid when I am off again and he leaves my post next door.  Of course that is one less hop out of his car but he is still great!  I also like DPD as a courier used by some places I shop on line.  Being informed of the delivery time is great although a slightly daft rule that they can't deliver 5 mins early even if I am home!

Most stuff we have ordered has arrived promptly, sometimes earlier than expected.

I just hope all the cards we sent arrived before Christmas........they were posted on the 17th and we heard that one sent to Yeovil only arrived on the 24th!

The biggest surprise I had was a couple of months back.  I ordered some music copies from the USA on Fiday and they arrived on my doorstep  before 10am the following Monday morning.  That seemed incredible to me!

I spent 20 years with Royal Mail and loved every minute of it.I still think they do a great job and just wish some people would stop complianing about them as it's not usualy their fault when something is late. It's always a good excuse but often they posted later than they said.

I quite agree MJ i,ve noticed these days that some items on ebay are marked as despatched as soon as you pay for them when this is probably not true but it looks good but fortunately ther are many sellers who do get the goods in the post on the same day and the GPO and the couriers do the rest.Happy

Most people kick the Royal mail, me I am a great fan, they are efficient and  our Postman is very friendly, so friendly he invited me to their Christmas Party !!

Found Royal Mail better than couriers. At least they don't do, as one courier did last year, and leave a parcel in my recycling bin because I was out when they tried to deliver and they didn't want to come back. (the parcel went when the bin was emptied, the note left saying it was there was stuck in the letterbox flap so I didn't find it straight away)
