Hi wherenext.  No problem with the car seat.  After the birth, the paramedics arrived and Emma and the baby went to hospital in the ambulance.

ABM.  I used to work on the reception/ante natal clinic desk at our maternity unit and no it's not entirely unusual for a baby to be born in the back of a car - sometimes in our car park.  We were well practised in sending an alarm call to the delivery suit and getting the porters to rush out with screens to put round the car for some privacy.

Congratulations, and a special well done to your son for, presumably, keeping calm and doing all the right things.

That must have been seriously scary for all involved!

Congratulations to all your family, it will be a talking point for years to come.

A friend of mine delivered his first child in the car while on their way to the maternity hospital .... that was 30+ yrs ago in Paignton/Torquay
