It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

I am wise enough to realise that there will be vast array of parental interest, or lack of, in the developing of their children into young adults in all senses of the phrase.  However I think it would be wrong to suggest that the majority don't care or are like that. There are always going to be schools in certain areas that struggle to get that support from parents, probably because the parents are themselves are struggling or don't have the wherewithal to understand what is required of them. The same will apply when it comes to providing guidance to children about COVID. If the parents don't understand it is likely the children will either. Least we all forget, it's hard work being a parent and probably even harder work being a teacher!!!

I found this an interesting read. NZ and OZ have announced a bubble for travel commencing 19th. After months in the planning and postponed a couple of times.

All very clearly laid out how etc including your journey through the airport(s) so not to mix with other travellers and that quarantine and testing are still in the mix if needed. TRAVEL BUBBLE

Having just heard labour MP interviewed on radio4 Today programme where Covid passports are not need as stated by PM yesterday but the supporting documents say something else 🤐

They had similar at the Fowey Hall Hotel last year and believe they will again this year.

Those look more sensible than the marquee/gazebo set ups I've seen where there are the options sides and heating but it 'conforms' to outside apparently. Looks no different to spaced inside, except there will.always be draughts 😲

Much as I would like to go out and have someone else cook for me, no way would I want to sit in a draughty tent in my hat and coat.

And some  photos I’ve seen as posted by various pubs etc seem to stretch the meaning of “outside”. Marquees in car parks? No thank you.

"I hope they let some fresh air on otherwise they are virus traps"

"Much as I would like to go out and have someone else cook for me, no way would I want to sit in a draughty tent in my hat and coat."

There's nothing like variety!

We are with the open air with maybe a cover in case it rains. Last year we were asked to meet with friends at a pub and they had, partially, open sided marquees.

It was like eating in a wind tunnel and no pleasure so would rather wait till May if faced with that situation.

The other people i meet when walking Rosa are from quite a few walks of life and professions (some retired)many still working especialy when on our early morning walks 0630-0800

Teachers are among them and will openly admit that some children these days when first  year at school are not even potty trained and also need help with feeding

One teacher is at a special needs school, and says some pupils parents expect it to be our job to train their children to use toilets and eating utensals,

But they all say things have got a lot worse in schools in the last few years ,with more parents trying to pass on to them a lot of what would have been in the past parents responsibilities

which these days increased the need of classroom assistants
