I am shocked that the Government has not been able to give clear and concise instruction or that they've not thought out the consequences.

At least they consistent.🤔😠

We are barely out of bed at 08.30, and no use going shopping here at that time as you cannot buy wine etc till 10am.

The review into the conduct of police in respect of the two ladies at Foremark Reservoir has been completed and the comments from the Chief Constable of Derbyshire,  Rachel Swann are:

"Two fixed penalty notices that were handed to two women who had travelled to Foremark Reservoir on Thursday have been withdrawn and we have notified the women directly, apologising for any concern caused".

The CC also acknowledged that "At present, there is no clear limit as to how far people can travel to exercise".

On this basis I now feel I can drive the 4½ miles to Calke Abbey (where there were also numerous police present last week), where I know I will encounter far less people than I would walking the streets in my 'local area' and therefore feel safer.

If the two people had been “tubby males” the story would have never got in the news , the press only wanted to push it because it was attractive females

Tried to buy a small bottle of white wine for making a risotto but was stopped as it was 9:30, I did try to explain it was a cooking ingredient it didn't wash!

That's the odd thing, isn't it?  You are encouraged to exercise locally but the streets are worse than the M25 when it comes to walkers, joggers, runners, cyclists, cars et al. Not good for avoiding the virus!

Now if you were to drive say 6 miles to the local forest and enjoy  a  relatively crowd free walk etc., quite safe from Covid 19, you would be fined by the police for having done just that.

Perhaps the only safe way is to walk up and down the garden a 100 times or so!

We were out this morning for one and half hours and saw only two joggers and another couple walking. Mind you it was heavy drizzle without respite.

We've done the same circular walk since lockdown mark 1. It's 4.5 miles and I would have expected to be bored to tears by now but amazingly I'm not. We go one way round one day and t'other way the next. Anyone we do meet, and we've met some really nice people , keeps their distance. I've calculated that in one year we'll have walked 1600 plus miles. I'm just hoping I don't wear my new knee out!

Coronavirus: Boris Johnson criticised over bike ride seven miles from home

Posted on 11/01/2021 23:11

BBC attacking the PM again I see. However he started his bike ride he was within the current rules as the BBC realised no doubt, but chose not to acknowledge I imagine.
