Started a new thread , let the old one run out.

Unfortunately the title is missing a E and a M but you know what it means . Unless anyone knows how to alter the title

Four farthings = one penny,

six pennies = a six pence, (a tanner )

twelve pence = one shilling, (a bob) or two at six pence.

a florin = two shillings,  (two bob )

half a crown =two shillings and six pence,

a crown = five shillings, ( five bob )

ten shillings = (ten bob ) i.e,two x five bob.

a pound ,(240 pence) =two ten bob ,or four five bob, eight two bob etc..

You didn't mention the multi-sided three pence piece, which the new pound coin sort of resembles but I dont think it is worth as much.

I remember when my older Brother used to following the Horse and Cart man and shovel up the manure to put on our garden.

I remember going out milk sampling at crack of dawn. One milkman delivered with a horse and cart and the horse knew the round so well that it didn't need telling where to stop.
