I remember societies at school. Wednesday afternoons were given over to activities that is until the exam results dipped and the headmaster banned them. Even after that the school choir and the operatic society carried on as after school clubs. Each year we put on  a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. The music teacher was Musical Director and the elocution teacher ( yes we had one of those) was the producer. Those were some of my best times at school along with the sports activities, playing in the football and cricket teams and running for the school at the  annual interschool athletics event. Happy days

I remember being a 'sister or a cousin or an aunt' before my voice broke and later a 'gentleman of Japan'

Yep I've been in both Pinafore and The Mikado. In fact I played Koko in the Japanese thing and I had a little list.

I'm sure you'd not be missed.

I thought you might be drawn by the 'list' being a sailor CY.

I remember being in The Pirates of Penzance school play but I can't remember the part I played in it!
