Good to see the return of the Winterwatch series and crew. Encouraging to witness the success of several rewilding projects like The Enerdale Arctic Char project along, from only a handful of these fish a decade ago to over a thousand today thanks to the vision and action of the folk concerned. Once again the usual entertaining and interesting facts abound regarding our natural countryside. Fabulous stuff I think you will agree!!

Couldnt age more. I have family experience of A&A as you describe  it and know no one affected would ever use it to excuse or deceive,  it's just not in their make up. However we will differ over Bill Oddie.

Bill Oddie like myself just became a daft old git!  Having said that Bill was always an eccentric but I also have one other thing in common with him- we have been lucky enough to reach that fine old age of cantankerousness in a relatively reasonable fettle. Unfortunately many A&A folk have had the opportunity to make the very best of their lot cruelly and deliberately removed by others and also from a young age. I will stress though that many in our society are very supportive but the few can be so damaging.

mickeysf...I don't wish Chris Packham or anyone in any walk of life harm only good fortune. However no matter how you dress Chris Packham up , to me he is far too critical of people that I refered to in my previous post.

Indeed, critical of their efforts though not them as people and certainly not intentionally hurtful in doing so. There is a huge difference and it is that difference which is crucial. Thankfully both you and I have the capacity to discriminate between the two, others can not! Whether that is good fortune, I’m not sure all would see it that way!

Glad this post is under " entertainment" because that is what the programme is. Far away from real life.

All you need to do is look back, see who soured this thread and understand their reasoning for doing so. This is a very entertaining and informative programme which is all about real and raw nature and natural life, one which many people thoroughly enjoy.👍

What's more, viewing is not mandatory so those who don't like it are free to watch something else.👍

We like the program and it presentation team. OH follows Chris on Facebook, hugely knowledgable  even if he has strange views about food.

Chris Packham is wildlife focused, he is a superb person both heart & soul, which is obvious from what his step Daughter has learnt from him & their relationship. The fact he’s constantly attacked & even been firebombed by the field ‘sports’ fraternity speaks volumes. AD your good Lady has a very good heart👍🏻

Fish, have you ever considered saying something positive about someone?, your constant attacks on folk are meaningless unless you have a positive opinion on some others to give us context. I dislike bad farmers who abuse animals yet I’ve worked with & for some superb ones. One I know well turned down a lucrative contract to supply young cows for the veal trade due to its cruelty. That’s context👍🏻. Don’t even get me started on foie gras😤😤
