Storage used to be a scandal when the complex was called Windscale..

But in 1981 they solved the problems of Windscale by changing it's name to Sellafield.

And the public was fooled again.

Surprised

I can safely say I have never met anyone with whom I have discussed the Windscale / Sellafield issue that was fooled by the name change

Scary stuff. When I saw them selling lobsters direct off the boats in Ravenglass, I wondered if they glow in the dark.

The site safety seemed a bit cover-up- Ish to me. A Panarama special.

I have always thought that our first nuclear disaster will be self inflicted from one of these power stations, rather than as a result of war.

Now we have the Chinese behind our next one......not known for their quality products, are they?

Britain's has already had a number of nuclear accidents, the worst was a fire at Windscale (now Sellerfield)  on the 10th October 1957 This was a very severe event and the milk from many miles around the area was not allowed to enter the food chain for a number of months.

Compared to other countries UK nuclear safety is quite good

I agree but tis a fact of life that generating electricity has a cost whether it be from coal, oil, wind & water
