When is a rule not a rule?

Just got back from Cromer Seacroft site where there are two notices at the entry stating “Sorry no arrivals before 1.00pm”. However on at least two occasions we witnessed people, not only arriving before 1.00pm but being booked in and allowed on site, why do I bother timing my journeys and / or stopping in lay-bys to ensure I arrive after the advertised time when the rule is so blatantly ignored by others (including the wardens who allow it to happen)? šŸ¤¬

For goodness sake why is there all this palaver about an hour?

We went through all this last night but still the same old is still being churned out in a place where it will likely have no effect at all. What do you hope to gain other than raised blood pressure? Take it to the ears of those in charge or, as was said last night, live with it as there really is no other option if you want to use club sites.

It's such a pointless debate as arrival times in recent years were never fixed at 12pm for all sites, some sites were 1pm.

As JK said in the linked thread, no matter what the arrival time is someone will always appear on site early! wink

I want to revert to 12pm entry, as before as this was a temporary change to allow extra Covid cleaning, no longer required.

According to the UK government there were 102,089 people who tested positive in the last 7 days, up 69% on the previous 7 days. A fair few when you consider there are less tests being done than previously. Covid hasnā€™t gone away!

If those who think covid add  cleaning in the past try telling that to the NHS who are still grappling with the ongoing problems covid is stil l causing ,

iI have been visiting my OH every day for the last nine days she has been an inpatient

Masks have to be warn by all staff and visitors, aprons to be warn by all visitors coming from outside and the wards are being continuously cleaned and that is all surfaces not just the floors,

I’m sure they do and will continue to do so, Brue. You can’t please all of the people…… and some will always seek to flout the rules.

I’ve discovered that one of the recent complainants was also unhappy with club sites and prices 6 years ago but is, evidently, still a member and using club sites. He also said in 2016 that he wouldn’t be visiting CT again. It's a shame that such remarks rather devalue his current argument making it even more pointlessšŸ™.

Very good, thanks, I knew it saw it somewhere.TEMPORARY is the word to consider, not as some folks seem to accept as inevitable or already decided. Previously if I booked a site it was for mostly 24 hrs, if I want to arrive late or leave early then that is my choice but I want the 24hr option as a member

It is inevitable, it is decided, I can't recall it being temporary but now for whatever reason it is temporary no more, likewise it was for 24 hours, and now it isn't. That's it. You don't have that option any more.

Just because something, anything, is labelled temporary that does not mean it cannot become permanent.

Perhaps the 'temporary' changes showed that it was a better way for the club to manage their sites, perhaps wardens to have a proper more manageable (legal) lunchbreak, no bottle necks with those leaving and those arriving, less traffic movement on site (yes people leaving and those arriving can and do be on site roads within a few minutes of 12, more time for wardens to do any necessary jobs on a vacated pitch. All of these thing might benefit me in some way.

I really have no idea about any of the above btw, but I don't care, the new time is 1pm. I just accept it.

My second law of CT - those that post to complain about the club and its sites still carry on using them extensively.

You know DD just because you write something is ludicrous doesn't make it true.
