Yes indeedy!!! What a good idea - the driver can see a peg from whatever side he is reversing from. I commented on it to the warden, who said 2 pegs have been rolled out across the network "because some people have difficulty in understanding the rule when there was only one peg."

depends on whether you're reversing in from the near or off side ... if I'm reversing from my nearside I have problems looking through my caravan to see the peg & EmilysMum manages to stand in the only place on site where I can't see her

+1. That's why I think it's a great idea. Mrs Nutsy can go to the facilities block whilst I pitch upsmile

Don’t think anyone on here has anything but good manners, its rather a poor show to suggest that some are bad mannered particularly when all they are doing is following the rules and guidance given to all.

Just to clear up a couple of points and for the sake of going over very old ground. The only "rules" are that you park your outfit between the two markers with the option of going front or rear in. There are no rules regarding which way the habitation door faces and there never has been.

The two peg system has been adopted because some people were unsure how to pitch up which resulted quite a few times with people having to repitch their outfits to maintain our required fire spacing.

There are a number of private sites where you can pitch up how you like, I use a couple myself but the club has a large network of sites, some a lot more spacious than others so a standard uniform approach of parking between two markers makes sense. And works.

I think you & your fellow managers would be way too busy if each site had its own pitching rules🤷🏻‍♂️

Whilst it has been ok to park rear or nose in for many years I know from experience your statement  "never has been" is wrong

When I was on my first outing in my newly purchased Hymer we went to the Rutland club site and the warden absolutely insisted we go in tail end first.

Isn’t Rutland an AS?

I've been pitching nose for over twenty years at one site, and always actively encouraged.

But JK is correct, from previous discussions and threads on here the rules have always been the same on club sites, that is one could park nose in or reverse in, but incorrectly a very small number of wardens decided to apply their own unofficial rules.

I recall a particular case on here where following a similar incident to yours but on a club site where an apology was issued by the club and something along the lines of that particular warden would receive 're-training'.

I also recall some posters taking the published statement from the club with them on their travels in case other wardens had the same idea.

Yes it is, and so wouldn't be subject to the same rules. Also wouldn't have wardens either?
