Washing machines

Hi,

Does anyone know if club sites charge to use the spin cycle on washing machine?

To keep cost down I was thinking of doing some  hand washing rather than use washing machine then just spin and either put on airer or dryer.

I normally do 2 to 3 washed a week in van at the cost of £6+ each.

Thanks

Not sure if they have changed, but some Sites had a separate spinner. There was always a charge though. Some Sites had cold fill only machines.

If you do that much washing every week, you could look at one of the portable washer/spinner machines? Might work out cheaper for you long term. You would need to carry water back and forth unless on a serviced pitch.

The newer front loader washing machines will do a spin only and usually costs £1.00 to operate or 1 token which is available from the site office, the old single spinners were removed many years ago from sites H&S I think was the reason for their removal.

Hope this helps.

It's £4 for a wash cycle which takes around 40 minutes and £1 for a spin. Dryers are £1 for a 15 minute cycle.

Spinners were removed along with irons back in 2011.

If you did go down this route we didn't find the water supply and disposal onerous. .

And the electric. I am surprised the Club is only charging £4.

If the machines are still the same, the £1 setting is for Rinse and Spin, so super easy to hand wash in the sinks and put straight in the machine.  Can’t understand why anyone would pay £4 for the full programme when the sinks are right next to the machines!

Happy days!

The OP states they do 2 or 3 washes a week, that would be a lot of holiday time bending over those sinks for the sake of a few quidwink.

I had one of those twin tub things when we were in Spain, worked really well and only used 2kw per week.

£3 to save a lot of effort and (probably) get a better wash sounds well worth it to me.

Unless only doing one's smalls! wink
