This policy grossly disadvantages, people who have caring responsibilities and cannot always book well in advance because they have to respond dynamically to issues that arise with caring responsibilities and available support. As far as I’m concerned, banding is the most logical and transparent way to decide your prices. I have just tried to book a site at Moreton-in-Marsh for a weekend in March and the price quoted is £46 per night for two people in a touring caravan. Is this the upper limit or is the sky’s the limit the policy in play? I very much want to find out how this price is justified. I imagine a lot of people will be doing a cost/benefit analysis of membership on the basis of this pricing - let’s hope it’s not adopted by other sites who might otherwise be beneficiaries of disgruntled CMC members

Ah well, best put your idea to CAMC.

Prices can, of course, easily be adjusted downwards if the prediction proves accurate.

How would pausing the refurbishment of sites benefit members? From what you say I imagine you are suggesting that the money spent should be used to subsidise current site prices? I don't think that is going to happen and it would only mean prices would rise even more in the future. It's also probable that most of this year's refurbishment have signed contracts which would be messy to get out of and cost the Club to get out of them?

Building costs are not falling and continue to rise. There Will be significant costs incurred from delaying these programmes. And commercial energy costs are not necessary the same as domestic.

However the fallacy the club is a club needs demolishing - pun intended. If ‘members’ want the business to be run as a club I am sure they will also be happy to accept their legal share of liabilities and financial losses. That doesn’t mean I agree with dynamic pricing - I don’t but the answer is in my own hands, I can take my business elsewhere as can anyone else. Membership and use of club sites isn’t yet a mandatory legal requirement of caravan ownership, in spite of what some on this forum seem to convey.

I appreciate all the opposing opinions however having just read a post elsewhere which proves that in the next 12 month the like for like cost of a 5 day booking at RTP York will increase by 27 % I am afraid that I find the increase excessive. Break even doesn't have to involve cancelling of contracted works just a moderation of the business ethics currently at play IMO

The present energy price cap ends soon with an announcement tomorrow so we'll have to see what happens next. Difficult to predict things at the moment but there is a trickle down effect for everyone.
