The reality of dynamic pricing

This policy grossly disadvantages, people who have caring responsibilities and cannot always book well in advance because they have to respond dynamically to issues that arise with caring responsibilities and available support. As far as I’m concerned, banding is the most logical and transparent way to decide your prices. I have just tried to book a site at Moreton-in-Marsh for a weekend in March and the price quoted is £46 per night for two people in a touring caravan. Is this the upper limit or is the sky’s the limit the policy in play? I very much want to find out how this price is justified. I imagine a lot of people will be doing a cost/benefit analysis of membership on the basis of this pricing - let’s hope it’s not adopted by other sites who might otherwise be beneficiaries of disgruntled CMC members

Its simple market economics really. High demand = high price, low demand= low price/big discount. Swings and roundabouts in my view.Upside is  reduced cost if you stay at low demand  periods.

This does raise a point about the pricing structures and how they are decided, is there a basic pitch fee any more, how are things costed?

Ours is not to reason why, Brue. Ours is but to pay up or go elsewhere👍🏻

The whole system now seems your a customer and not a club member .I know this has been said before about pricing but one week identical dates ,Sandringham caravan and motor home club is approximately  £100 more than the camping and caravan club.

With the changes to the booking system, deposits, dynamic pricing etc the club to my mind is just another leisure travel/campsite operator....

Sadly, moans & groans on here aren't going to change that ......

Just decide if a site and the price being offered suit you and if they don't, give it a miss.....

It IS a Club - and as such should produce a break even Budget for the next 2 financial years to allow current market fluctuations to reduce and not to react like a utility company.

…..but the utility and other price rises affect CAMC. A break even budget would mean there'd be no surplus to refurbish or repair sites and facilities. I can already hear the complaints..😆

The problem with a two year forecast is that it is impossible to predict what energy prices will be over such a longish time span? Two years ago would anyone have predicted what would happen to prices?
