Hi, just been looking for a club site in the south west and really fancied a visit to Hillhead until I checked the prices! £53.20 per night for a family of four on a serviced pitch - some mistake surely even for August.

What I meant was individual cubicles which contain a shower and a toilet and a wash hand basin, such as one finds on some sites eg C&CC Teversal site.

you mean like the ones that people complained about at Black Knowl ,hopefully now dispensed with,

Not sure why these should attract a higher price. I don't particularly like them, someone shaving or having a shower ties up a toilet cubicle. Much prefer the standard set up.

I find that they are fine if like me you generally get there for around 6.30am. smile

I have been on at least one site where on two occasions that I went for a shower etc the lighting in the main block in the shower area did not come on until 6.30am !!  OK though as there was light for the loo and if I left the cubicle doors propped open enough light to shave

My mobile phone is set with an alarm for 7am. It is rare that during the 17 weeks we are away I need the reminder. I usually put it into my pocket on the way to the showers so as not to disturb OH.

When not on holiday it is generally used as a reminder to get up rather than to wake up. The alarm is always very low volume. If I wake up early like 5.45 I often wait for the alarm.

After my wife's death some 20 years ago I changed my getting up time from 6.45 to 6am to give me time to do washing etc. Earliest clock in time was 7.30 and I would be in the office by 7.15. Toast and kettle on, fire up computer and sort out work/tasks for the couple of guys working for me.

Try Rothemurchus Estate site at Aviemore. Superb individual cubicles with all facilities ( and yes cheaper than CC sites). Best Cc site facilities are at Kinlochewe.

It used to be that CC customers would choose a CC site because it was in a nice area to tour and explore.

How things have changed -- It seems, if this thread is to be believed, that  the most important consideration is the design and bling of the public lavatories. laughingsmile

I don't know about others, but when we go away to a campsite, it's not to spend our vacation days in the lavatory. We go out and about and enjoy ourselves.  If the lavatory block is not to our liking we use the facilities in the van. cool

BUT,--

I have yet to see any Toilets and Showers  on any CC site,  which is not immaculately cleaned by the Warden staff.  Sadly there are members who quickly turn those immaculately cleaned toilets and showers into a disgusting mess.   Don't blame the wardens -- It's down to the standard of hygiene of some of the membership. surprised

Cheers.....................K

Looks very nice, and as you say the prices are reasonable. It says it only has 17 pitches for caravans / motorhomes, so I assume it might be difficult to get into?
