Hi, just been looking for a club site in the south west and really fancied a visit to Hillhead until I checked the prices! £53.20 per night for a family of four on a serviced pitch - some mistake surely even for August.

The nearest site to me in Cornwall is not a Club site, nor a CL , nor a commercial site. It's a family owned site with 35 pitches.

The unchanging all year round prices are £13 on grass without electricity, £15 on grass with electricity, £17 on hard standing with electricity. That includes toilets, showers and use of the family swimming pool in the summer months.

Dogs are free but heating your awning is certainly charged extra. They score ten out of ten on UKCS reviews and customers don't grumble about it on the internet even though there is a non refundable £30 deposit on booking. But their customers are not typical Caravan Club members.

Dare I ask what it's called EuroT? Sounds like our kind of site, outside of school holidays.

TTDA, I am not really willing to let everyone know where in Cornwall I am, nor to advertise one particular site - there are enough CL owners doing that on here - but if there is some way I can contact you I will gladly pass on the details privately.

Euro, if you're willing, you're welcome to use the email address in my profile and I can forward the info to TDA.

We're digressing but I thought you worked in the private sector?

Indeed it is both popular and at  that price, but it's hardly only "bog standard " facilities. But I suppose we have all different concepts on what is 'bog standard' ?

Posted on 08/02/2017 19:20

Why aren't they bog standard facilities. They don't have individual shower/toilet cubicles or underfloor heating. IMO it is a large car park with BS facilities and certainly not worth the high price that the club is charging.

what club site does not have individual cubicles for shower and or toilets?

What I meant was individual cubicles which contain a shower and a toilet and a wash hand basin, such as one finds on some sites eg C&CC Teversal site.

Not sure why these should attract a higher price. I don't particularly like them, someone shaving or having a shower ties up a toilet cubicle. Much prefer the standard set up.
