the club need to check the pricing. On searching Treamble Valley the from price was totally different to the cheapest cost which was in October for one person and pitch.

The club is not a charity. Maybe consider C&CC which provides an age discount?

Posted on 28/12/2018 19:51

Nobody could mistake the club for a charity some may even question its commitment to those who pay the fees.
But I think for me it's the comparative high cost of basic comfort sites toilet showers and parking the club provide,a lot of private owned sites offer a higher level customer service at a more Competitive price in the same area, it's not a case of if you don't like go away but any changes or price increases must be open for debate as to why.
I'm sure at lot people like me belong to organisations or clubs that they pick out aspects which useful to them but it should bar them from having a view on parts they don't use.

I stand to be corrected but I think its a standard charge of around £3.90 a night extra regardless of site.

It was £3.90 last year David. No idea about next season.

"Perhaps nothing will convince them but they are the ones with  the narrow minded view of life not the rest of us that realise that the internet offers wonderful opportunities. What I don't understand is where they have been for the past 20 years?"

I can't quite believe you said that, David. Not everyone has had the opportunity to learn how to use a computer, or even to understand what they do. Not everyone lives in areas where fast internet cabling is in place and not everyone wants or needs a computer.

To say they have a narrow minded view of life is inappropriate in so many ways. I think we should be open minded rather than dismissive of other's choices. I have neighbours who choose not to drive a car, let alone have a computer. They are perfectly happy living their lives in the way that suits them. Perhaps one person's wonderful opportunity is another's unwanted stress and hassle.

perhaps they do not want the world to know their business!I looked on line for a greenhouse the other month...now everytime I visit a forum etc details of greenhouses pop up!!!!!and the same thing happens after I looked for a sensor for my oil tank........etc.etc.The internet is not always useful!!!!!

You are of course quite right, it is no more a club than the AA or RAC  are these days. I look at location, facilities and price and find that in terms of value for money (taking all into account), commercial sites are becoming if not already better value.  The pricing of Club sites seem to be generally up there with many commercial sites who are offering far more than the basic facilities of a club site, they need to up their game to match the prices!

We all  have differing likes Fingerman. For me I don't want more facilities than I find on most club sites even though some may find such facilities of value. To me they are not

Just had this response from HO, bvm. Not good enough in my opinion, but what does one expect!!

"If you wish to request a copy you would either need to call or email us mid January so we can send you one in the post. We are unable to pre-order pricing supplements."

Posted on 28/12/2018 22:08

Thanks Nellie.

As you say, but what does one expect! Why couldn't they say that in their initial reply to our e mails? At least we know now.

I suspect no paper copies have been printed and the powers that be have been caught out and are feverishly trying to get some copies printed, or perhaps not, and they might just be equally feverishly hoping by mid January we will all have forgotten about it and the issue will have quietly gone away!

Ever tried to get a paper copy of British Airways prices?  Or Premier Inns? Or a ferry company? Come on guys, get real. It's almost 2019.
