The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

Sorry I have not read all the previous posts,so this may have been covered, but in all the years of being a member I have never had to cancel, but I have had to change the touring plans suddenly twice now.

Recently we were staying at the Club's Bearsted site when we received a telephone call that my FIL was unwell and waiting hospital results,we were booked in for Tredegar House and the Bearsted site managers made this difficult time manageable, especially  phoning Tredegar House whilst I was in the office.

So my question is even though we had booked Tredegar House but stayed on an extra 2 nights at  Bearsted would we in future loose the deposit at Tredegar House even though the Club were still getting our site fees.

Happily my FIL didn't require hospital and we could continue holiday even getting into Baltic Wharf a day earlier than planned.

I think we will have to wait until we see the fine print of the T&C’s before we know the answer. We have on a couple of occasions, when we didn’t fancy towing in the weather conditions, extended a stay on one site and shortened a stay on the next. How will it handle that? Hopefully without the loss of deposit at the next site.🤞

Yours is another of the many it seems, questions on just this site,  ,that it seems at this time we are not privy to any real explanations to      ,from any quarter,     which in my opinion is just adding to the confusion, that if the club had been more up front may well have allayed must of  negativity of many

Or is it that many of the queries cannot yet be answered? ,as the tinkering and tweeking is still trying to fathom out how it is to work as smoothly as some try to spin it to members

I wonder if the club looked at deposit systems adopted by commercial sites and have attempted to adopt those without fully appreciating the number of members who book multiple sites on a tour, and who for whatever reason have to change those booking while on site, as described above by Fozzie?

JK

Your contributions are always appreciated particularly on this subject as we try and get our heads around the detail. I am sure people can decide where the reliable information is coming fromwink

Obviously you never used the site directory to search for CLs. It so much easier looking through the SD than having to download a PDF file and print off separate pages, even if one has a printer. It would be a nail in the coffin of CLs if the SD was abandoned.

Nellie

I did also suggest they do a separate directory for CL's could be the answer to the post I was replying to. No way did I suggest they should do away with a directory. As I have done before I have suggest the directory is available, for those that want it, in PDF format. It is probably already produced in that format when it is sent to the printers so no extra work apart from uploading to the website.

... In fact, it is discriminatory against families and those with low incomes that will now have to find money up front.

I don't care one way or t'other re deposits, I try not to use club sites, but how is it discriminatory? 'Families & those with low incomes' pay deposits for their holiday just about everywhere else in the holiday industry. The money needs to be found sooner or later and it could be argued that it's similar to paying in instalments.
