I haven't seen any confirmation or otherwise regarding this but have just read it on Faceache with a date of 25th June being, allegedly, given by a member of site staff for implementation.

UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON BOOKINGS

We are normally able to book for next June from today.
However this isn’t possible as the website is moving over to deposits in the next couple of weeks.
So at this time we cannot book anything for next June until the system is live.

If you do not book a tour well in advance   it then gets more difficult as sites get booked up for some of the days needed

Only if you stick to Club sites and even that is not entirely true, only certain sites and weekends are liable to be fully booked way in advance.

+1, add to that a humongous squeeze on finances for 2023. To many  it will be a really hard time I’m afraid.

As one gets older the more one needs to have a tour in place with sites booked, including other than both clubs sites without leaving it until a later date  ,and in our case in the last two years, that all sites booked have full accessable facilitieswinkcoolsurprised .not everyone has the luxury of going and touring without and using on board facilities except in exceptional circumstances undecided

You don’t really need to understand it. The fact is some of us do like to plan ahead. Given that when the bookings come online the playing field will be levelled, some members may feel it is not worth waiting and go elsewhere. I fear the CAMC are throwing away both long term reservations and goodwill.

Given that in general weather forecasts are only any good for 5 days, what you suggest wouldn’t be the best for a tour containing 16 consecutive sites.

Whilst I accept that on a long tour, you will have to accept whatever weather you get, we wouldn't go away on the first leg if the weather was atrocious. Booking later does have its advantages.

Even when we are away for a number of weeks we would only probably book the first two sites, the next site is only booked when we are ready to move on.

When you go to France are you more relaxed in your touring pattern?

In France we don’t book anything, but then we are out of season and have access to hundreds of Aires. Here we prefer to use  CAMC, C&CC and some private sites and book ahead. Just our personal choice. Personally we wouldn’t delay or put off a tour, or even a shorter booking because of the weather. Unless it was unsafe to travel of course.

I’m amused at people desperately wanting to book for next June . Never mind next June, there are about 180 Club sites with availability for next week.

I don’t find anything particularly amusing about when folk book. I assume they do what they do because it suits them.

With the amount of stopping places in a much larger country than this , then touring would be less stressful  even more so when our sprogs were younger as this country was then

I agree but don't go telling others its because there is no room at the inn which is blatently untrue.
