Hillhead Facilities

I note that the promoted facilities at Hillhead will not be open until May 17th. The bar, restaurant and shop will be closed until this date. Afterwards the bar and restaurant are limited to Weds-Sun openings.

The cost for two adults staying over Easter on a basic EHU pitch is £49.60p but there is no information that the facilities won't be open. A PDF link has to be opened to discover more but there is no info about doing this.

I'm putting this on here as I feel visitors should be informed openly in advance, many pay higher fees at this site to enjoy what's on offer. I don't think the lack of facilities should be hidden away. Hillhead doesn't offer anything in it's immediate vicinity to compensate eg shops or eating out.

Reported your post Dawn. I doubt that anyone from HO will bother to explain the situation as they see it.

As has been told to me ,the club directors seem on a "dash for cash" to try to get as much back from the covid losses even though there is a large increase in membership and still this year" staycations,"undecided

I didn't use a single club site last year. With prices like that, I shan't be rushing to use one this year either.

Seems to me the club are determined to recoup the lost revenue during the pandemic

The fact most of us continued to pay our yearly membership even when the sites were closed has meant nothing to the club

The other club extended the membership last year to say thanks but CMC nothing

This year all sites seem to have had dramatic price increases.  We were booked on Moreton in Marsh over Easter but having just returned today from a weekend I refuse to pay £38.00 per night for a standard pitch with two adults,

The work they have done on site is very sub standard, yes they have improved some pitches but mostly to convert them to serviced pitches which they then charge more for.  The roads around the site are still very poor and flood easily.  Part of the site was very much a building site but they still sold pitches so people were arriving Friday with no option but to pitch in the area, then they have closed the toilet block so if you are that side come tonight you have to walk to the other end of the site to use the facilities.

I think this is very poor planning from the club and surely a business as big as they are should be able to organise site improvements in a better way.

I have now booked a private site with equal amenities but at £25.00 per night so over four nights a saving of £52.00, enough to pay for another trip out

Very misleading Dawn, yes the other Club did extend their membership which roughly equated to all of £12.00,don't forget nearly 9 sites where closed and "my" extension went from November to February.

At least what this Club did with the Site vouchers gave a cash incentive,in which I wished I had made even more use of.

It seems very sneaky not to make it abundantly clear on the booking page that the facilities you are paying a higher pitch fee for aren't available!

Maybe the club will respond?......

I do hope we'll get a response B2, it seems that the details haven't been updated and need attention. Either way it would be good to know what is open on the site and what isn't?!

Maybe the club consider it good business practice to have their site directory and website out of date and only need sorting once every 2 years?

Personally it's not how I'd run my business.....

It’s another symptom of what’s becoming a poorly run business from the point of view of Members, and I suspect ratching up the stress quotas for those working at the sharp end such as Site staff and those answering  the phones.

I wouldn’t be that bothered really, but the crux of the matter is that we pay for Membership, and at the moment, HQ are not delivering and managing to expectations in a number of ways.
