Coming down The Rest-and-be-Thankful this week I recalled that there was once a Club site at Ardgarten. It got me wondering about other "lost" sites and the memories people had of them.  What are YOUR memmories?

Do I remember correctly that there was once a Blackpool North site?

Yes ob1 i can remember Newmarket R/C site stayed on it , very pleasant memories of that site. This thread highlights many sites we have stayed at that are no longer on the network. The variety show at Pontins was a bit near the knuckle when we were there.

My new member card as just arrived , been a member 40 years, got to hang in for another 10 years then i think i get free membership , can any one confirm that, expect it will be changed before i reach that milestone.

a bit like the retirement age, it gets further away the nearer one gets to it!! I think that it's the other club that give free membership to those that have been a member 50yrs or more.

C&CC grant veteran membership at half price to members over 65(?) who have belonged for over 25 years. I've not heard of CC doing anything similar.

I spoke to the membership department today on another matter and then asked the question re. 50 years members getting free membership and the answer is yes they do.

Write your comments here... But only if their parents, who must also be members, can vouch for them, personally.I cant wait.

Only 12 yrs to go for us, and I'll be into my low 80's so plenty of free nights for us to come!!Wink

However will the offer still be on by then? I doubt it as the numbers of those who will be eligable for this is increasing every year.

44 years for me but due to the CC having reset my account when my online account broke I'm only down as a member of two years.

I think it unlikely that I'll be benefitting from this 'generous' offer

Only 21 years to go for my free membership. Cannot wait but at 91 not sure if I will get a lot of use out of it.
