It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

This thread is specifically and solely for members currently visiting sites to offer useful feedback.

Please keep your posts on the topic of "caravan sites opening and safety measures on sites" only.

Thank you.

Hi, fully understand the special arrangements for day one but the restrictions due to COVID-19 are ongoing and therefore procedures for arrivals will be difficult for some time so the phone call for confirmation and payment seems like a very good Idea to me.

They'd need hundreds of extra staff across the network to cope with that on an ongoing basis. Jolly Kernow explained what a huge job it was for the wardens to contact each booked person in advance. The warden team on his site spent hours/days doing it and that was at a time when the site was shut so they didn't have the routine work to contend with as well.

Making phone calls is very time consuming and especially when people are not by their phone.

Hi all, arrived at Rowntree park in York on reopening day, what a fantastic experience, contacted 2 days prior to confirm booking and make payment, then on arrival brilliant warden team throughout.   Met at barrier, registered in and then on to pitch of my choice.  Great information and humour, no queues on this very busy site.  Facilities restricted to 4 people in each with rubber band system. Early days but not faultless.  Cleaning 3 times a day, very very efficient team.

Now sat on Poolsbrook, no phone call to confirm and pay, very long queues to book in, understandingly only 1 in office at a time, but no urgency by members to get in and out quickly, hence very long queues of outfits.  Facilities only 2 in men’s and 3 in women’s, some strange decisions to mark some of the facilities out of use?

with regards to arrivals I would’ve thought the club would have a universal approach, York excellent and seamless, Poolsbrook not so!

restrictions on facilities are out of your hands and we appreciate them being open at all, many thanks.

Poolsbrook nhas a lot more pitches than Rowntree park and as others have posted pre pay was for the opening of club sites across the network only ,and would take many more staff to cope if it was to be a regular method

What time did you arrive a Poolsbrook?if it was at the popular /frenzy to be on site at first arrival time , then untill this very dangerous time is reduced?,and some ,, members realise there are others in the queue? to book in, with the restrictions ,that have been put in place,it is something that we will all have learn to live with,

Supermarket and other shops queues should have been a precursor of what can be expected for many months or longer

Rowntree Park in York has been running an efficient booking in system for years although normally when you arrive you'd be checked off a list without leaving your van and then pay at the office later after pitching.

Poolsbrook, we have only been there once at a fairly quiet time, the facilities are much better there than York, light airy and modern, no idea about numbers using them.

I don't know why people are going into the CAMC receptions in the present circumstances. I thought phone payment was being taken on arrival where possible? The C&CC is taking a direct debit on arrival day so no unnecessary inside office contact.

I am confused...

I'm sure phone payment to the number posted on a board was mentioned. However, perhaps that is proving difficult to implement to any great extent due to the number of vouchers being used.

That's what I thought as well, brue.  Could it be that that was only for opening day, 4th of July?  I suppose there may be some people who don't have mobile phones though, so presumably they would have to go inside to pay.

The C&CC is taking a direct debit on arrival day so no unnecessary inside office contact.

Seems a much better system to me, makes a lot of sense.

I read that people entered reception to use the vouchers and where it was mentioned there was a screen in place and you placed the voucher against it so that the number could be read before you dropped it in a bucket. Somebody said that they were asked to rip them in half before dropping into the bucket

That was me ET.  Paying by vouchers the site staff have to know the value (they don’t read the numbers).  Then voucher ripped in half and dropped in a bucket

OnTuesday last week there was a sign outside the site office of a local  club site, saying  " please book in in office  one member only at any time"

Ps gas and other essentials were also still on sale

Cornersteady Dont follow your point. Mine was a general conclusion of a recurring aspect of the various spikes. Just pointing out the CC seem to have things well in hand with the use of Toilet blocks. Nothing more.
