It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

This thread is specifically and solely for members currently visiting sites to offer useful feedback.

Please keep your posts on the topic of "caravan sites opening and safety measures on sites" only.

Thank you.

Just interested Peedee, until more of us see what it's really like...we're off later in July, two sites not far from home.

I have been mildly annoyed at having to wait for a shower

I have newer waited for a shower, at least not in the last 15 years.

Neither have I and I would never do so. I would simply go back to the van and shower.

I have never worn gloves when using the disposal point. I would do as I would normally do Brue although I do have hand sanitizer and masks in the van if required.

A but then ours is a modest and venerable motorhome with only gas heating of water. Also, using the shower would inundate the wine box store and, in summer abroad, knacker the 12v coolbox! We've got the cash to walk out and buy a new van today, but at our age we wouldn't get much mileage out of it, nor many showerstongue-out

Strip wash. Used to be the norm before Caravans had showers in them, or a dip in the sea. It’s all gone soft nowadays.........😁 And the hardies have got older of course😂

Me neither, but I think I might use the disposable gloves I bought 100 of, just in case. When we were away in March just before lockdown we found water consumption excessive due to all the hand washing. You won't be able to nip into the block unless there is a token free.

As some body who has caravanned for a while I am quite happy with a strip wash TDA.

Yes, but not quite, when I said to one of our daughters and partner they said "what do you want a shower for...?!" So they'll be off in their tent or borrowed vans sited in fields with just a tap available and a pit.

In fact we've got a photo of them when they went to a funeral in Cumbria during lockdown, in a tent, alongside a horsebox, behind a wall and they did admit they'd never been so cold! wink

and i think most on here are from an era when we only bathed once per week, Sunday night whilst listening to "We are the Ovaltine's little girls and boys " on the radio, so why such an obsession with showering every day undecided
