Just read on FB that Bristol CC have given the club a 3 month extension. This was announced on the club site web page on the 9th. Don't try and book for New Year though, it's full

I don't know whether anyone has read the present site details but there is local construction going on from 7am to 7pm, every day! Take your ear plugs. This would ruin it for me, totally. frown

You just need to pitch away from the entrance/road and it’s ok. The only noise we could hear was the bleeping from a reversing crane. That said, the site can’t be described as peaceful. The rear borders the harbour where folks like to sit out with a drink by the adjacent pub until fairly late. The water sports centre on another boundary is busy most days and evenings and some of the residents in the flats on the other side have been known to enjoy a party at the weekend. That said, generally it all tends to wind down by 10:30 and should not put anybody off. It’s a great site, one of my favourites.

We've stayed there a lot SBill and I love the harbourside but I've reached my limits. In any case I have family in central Bristol so I won't be missing out. smile

Has anybody seen the one review not happy folk at all. We have never stayed there as not our sort of site but can see why it is popular, and the club will not spend money if it does close in January.

Yes the reviews are reflecting the site is being run down to it's closure but it has never been a place that people use for relaxing  on site but as a base for exploring Bristol. I have to say that I will miss the luxury of unlocking the harbourside gate and stepping into the lovely waterfront! The water taxis and trips into the city are totally unique. smile
