CAMC Affiliated Sites

Having just read yet another disappointing review of an AS ( this time Grant own on Spey) it left me wondering just why the club continues with this system. There seem to have been so many reviews recently mentioning substandard pitches and facilities along with poor behaviour by other guests and minimal compensation in the way of reduced fees.

So who benefits from the system? Seemingly not the club or individual members. Do the AS sites themselves gain any kudos by being associated with the club? Anyone got examples of really good experiences on an AS or benefits from using them?

We've never stayed on one as far as I can remember so it'd be interesting to hear other's experiences, good or bad.

I have used a few AS sites, a couple of Morris Leisure ones (another one in the offing) Fakenham Racecourse and Blair Drummond. Fakenham is a bit quirky and the facilities are not as good but compared to other race course sites it's about the same. Of the other I don't think they are any better but equally as good. They always seem to be a bit more expensive even allowing for any modest discount as a CMC member.

M,  most of this thread is missing on my computer so this might have already been said,  but we like several of the Affiliated sites...

We have stayed at Grantown and thoroughly enjoyed the site and the surrounding area. It is also an easy walk to the pleasant shops nearby. The poor review you mention seems to be very pitch and neighbour specific which could happen on any site....

Others like the Morris Leisure, Blair Drummond and North Ledaig are all the match of CC as far as we are concerned.....

Benefits from using them..?  Well the ones we have stayed at are either all H/S or you can book a H/S..... wink
