Posting a review

Would like to post reviews of the sites visited on recent trip, for inclusion in Clubs Site Guide and on website for sites booked via the club, but can't find a way to do it. Ideally this should be really easy to encourage members to post reviews. Maybe I'm missing something?!

Moderator Edit:

Can I check that you are referring to overseas sites that you've visited to be sure this is in the correct section.

Many Thanks.

You're right, it's far from clear.

Go to the web page of the site in question and open 'See more reviews'. You should then see a button 'Review this site'. That's if they've not changed it since I last looked.

I don't know if I would call some of the reviews, actual reviews of a site but more a review of their likes and dislikes.  One about the Buxton site recently was ludicrous as the reviewer didn't appear to have read anything at all about the site or looked at the photos of the site, before they booked it and was simply a list of why THEY didn't like it!

When reading some "reviews" it seems it is more of a complaint  "probably self inflicted"of the site ,that if the person posting had spoken to the site staf? It probly would have enlightened them to what they were postingundecided

That could be because little prominence is given to the guidelines for writing reviews so people don't read them and have no idea that it's not an avenue for complaint or, as in some cases, that they actually need to stay on the site.

Lesandang  have actually written some reviews for overseas sites, although not for quite a while. They might just need a reminder of where the not so easy to find “write a review” link button is located. Tinny has indicated where.

I agree with your post above Tinny. Some guidance and structure about how to comment would be useful for some folks. Far too many folks (talking generally here, not about the OP) use the review feature as something to complain through, which isn’t always helpful for those who use reviews to help choose a Site. 🙂

Some reviews give me facts and some reviews give me opinions. I can usually find the facts somewhere else, so I like to read opinions.

Opinions are useful, but you have to be like minded to enjoy what is on offer. I know that some of the CLs we love, others would not like for various reasons, but that’s where individual likes and dislikes come in.

Hardest reviews I find to complete are the ones for Club Sites. They are on the whole, a known quantity, so it’s the location, layout, access to places of interest that catch me.

But this is the overseas section -  and although there are a couple of hundred campsites there which I visited there is nowhere for me to review them on here -  so all my reviews are in other places - and in other names !

Click on the overseas section, choose a country, choose an area which brings up the sites. Click on an individual site and look for reviews, you can add your own just the same as UK site reviews. Many appear on here every day.

Yes, lots of overseas reviews. No idea if they are Sites with some sort of recommend or affiliation to Club, or simply random reviews.
