Posting a review

Would like to post reviews of the sites visited on recent trip, for inclusion in Clubs Site Guide and on website for sites booked via the club, but can't find a way to do it. Ideally this should be really easy to encourage members to post reviews. Maybe I'm missing something?!

Moderator Edit:

Can I check that you are referring to overseas sites that you've visited to be sure this is in the correct section.

Many Thanks.

So, thank you, I can now review sites that feature in this year's brochure but I feel that the clubs foreign touring guide is getting slimmer. I have a 2017 copy and the 2020 volume. The 2020 has less campsites. There are dots on the map and no site in the book. I know that there are review forms in the book but it would be good to be able to post a quick update on line and I can't find a way to do that. I believe that a site is removed if there are no reviews after a period of time. All we need to be able to do is say "been there, all good!" or otherwise!

Just a suggestion lesandang, why not ask Club if you can start a review “sticky” thread for any sites not in overseas list, much like they let me do with Small private sites in UK section? Helpful for those overseas visitors doing tours and linking sites together, if there is a gap.

Go to European Holidays and then Brochures and Guides.

Scroll down and you will find links to complete a short form for either a previously reviewed site in the clubs overseas guide where the site hasn't changed much or the information just need updating or this form can be used to get the site started if  a new one and then you can add a review when it's up and running.

Or you can complete the long form to alter details if you find the information completely out of date.

I have used these recently following our trip to the Netherlands.

I also tend to complete them in UKcampsite website both for new sites to that website or just update them and review them as normal.

Hope this helps.

Les

As you have discovered you can only review sites featured in what used to be called the Advanced Booking Service for overseas sites. Most of those sites are very well known and there are probably thousands of reviews on them out there on the internet. If you are referring to the Continental Site Guides (are they still called that?) if my past experience is anything to go by you can only contribute information which to my mind led to some very confusing comments like "quiet site" and in the same reference "noisy site" if you see what I mean. Like others I would suggest you add proper reviews where you can but for sites not listed in the ABS I would be inclined to use UKCampsites as has already been suggested.

The Club would offer an invaluable service if the put the Continental Site Guides online where you could add sites as well as adding reviews of existing ones. I fear we are being overtaken by events as many people now shun conventional means of leaving reviews and now rely of the likes of Facebook or Trip Advisor.

Whilst I agree that having more precise instructions as a moderator I often find that even with proper instructions people still post in the wrong place, the Story Section being a good example!
