Covid pass help

Is it possible to renew a paper  Covid pass before its current expiry date?  My pass runs out on Sunday 29th May 3 days before the start of the Jubilee celebration bank holidays. We are booked on Eurotunnel for Tuesday 7th June.  When I originally got the pass it took a week to arrive (4 working days) so I’m a bit worried about the timing.  My mobile phone Is (very) basic and OH’s smart phone will not process two Covid pass requests.  Despite looking at all info on the web  I cannot find any answer to this.  Thanks

This came up a while back and although we have two devices, I had a go at processing both on the same device. We have different emails addresses linked to our NHS account log ins and it’s works fine. Wether it would if you used the same email, I have no idea. Once you’ve processed  a pass you can save it  in PDF format or get it emailed, before you move onto the next.

Access your cert on the NHS App in order to update the validity then send a copy (via the App) to your email address, print all 3 certs and you’re done!

Repeat on your mobile using your wife’s

I have to do ours shortly and will do both on my phone, save them as a PDF, and also email as Bill says and print them off. I believe I'm right in saying they are valid for 30 days from the date you access them.

 Good luck. smile

We renewed ours on the same MacAir but different email addresses just the other day and they weren't technically due for renewal until 10 days time.

It's done from the date you access them, at least in Wales it is, and then due for renewal 30 days from them. Best to save as PDF as already advised as then you can gain access to them if having problems with wifi.

I do not have a Smart Phone, although my lovely other half does and wondered how we should proceed for our 35 day trip to France and NL starting June 6th.

I found the easiest way forward was to download the NHS app onto my tablet. You have to jump through a few hoops such as sending a photo or scan of your passport and then doing a live video thing, but in hindsight it was OK, even for a luddite such as myself.

I can now access the app and either download a copy of my covid vaccine record or get an e-mail sent immediately. I can save this and also print it off which I will do as a paper copy is easier for me to access.

When away I can through the app get another certificate even if my 30 days have not expired.

You only need a proof of vaccination to depart from UK and enter the EU.  After that it’s no longer required at all, so no problem if a paper copy expires while you are away.

A simple thing for other travellers is to phone 119 in the month before departing- they will send you a certificate valid for 30 days which is sufficient to enter the EU.

meecee, time to invest in a new/used phone that can handle these sort of things I think? This way of doing things isn’t gonna go away.

Anyone living in Wales will know that the NHS App doesn't work for us because NHS Wales is devolved, and the separate systems are not integrated. There is no App for NHS Wales.

We therefore have to travel abroad with a paper version of the document (downloaded and printed from the website) valid only for 30 days, which is OK for us because we do not intent to travel abroad for more tan 30 days. If we did, we could obtain an updated paper copy of the pass by downloading it from the website and printed) whilst travelling.

So the simple answer to the OP is Yes, you can obtain an updated pass valid for 30 days at any time, by downloading and printing it. Any device with internet access should enable you to do this.
