Our 1st CL Holiday

So this Easter we chose to start our season off with a 3 night stay on a CL in Gloucestershire.  Apart from the weather it's been quite an enjoyable stay and we've actually liked the fact that although it's full, it's quite quiet compared with the last bank holiday that we spent at Cirencester CC site last May.  The toilet facilities were a little bit of a shock, but at least we do have them!  What did surprise is the fact 2 very large motorhomes were allowed to park in an L Shape nose to tail and the guests were allowed to stay overnight.  Overall though, based on this experience we would try another CL and of course the best thing of all is we paid just £45 for 3 nights away in a very beautiful location.

Well after a couple of cuppas and a hot soak in the bath, I've just booked us into Greeacres Farm at Bibury for the May Day Bank Holiday :)  Thank you to everyone for their recommendations.

Do CL's tend to still require you to arrive by 8pm, or can it be later?  Greenacres looks to be 10 pm is that the norm?  That could be quite handy as I don't finish work until just before 6pm.

Check with the CL owners, they are usually very accommodating I find, but it does differ on each CL.

Just let Alan, the owner, know what time you intend to arrive. You will find a list giving your pitch number/letter on the gate into the site. The site is just before the farm house, and you will have to stop on the road so as to open the entrance gate. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

We don't specify a latest arrival time but simply ask those arriving late to be mindfull of those that are already on the site. It is also helpful if late arrivals can give an indication as to when they expect to arrive.  I look forward to welcoming catherinef at the end of April and thanks to H&T, BB and NTH for recomending us.
