Our 1st CL Holiday

So this Easter we chose to start our season off with a 3 night stay on a CL in Gloucestershire.  Apart from the weather it's been quite an enjoyable stay and we've actually liked the fact that although it's full, it's quite quiet compared with the last bank holiday that we spent at Cirencester CC site last May.  The toilet facilities were a little bit of a shock, but at least we do have them!  What did surprise is the fact 2 very large motorhomes were allowed to park in an L Shape nose to tail and the guests were allowed to stay overnight.  Overall though, based on this experience we would try another CL and of course the best thing of all is we paid just £45 for 3 nights away in a very beautiful location.

Glad you had a good time Catherinef. The majority of our UK time is spent on CL's, very rarely stay on main sites!

Life on CLs is different! Not so rule bound as Club Sites, inch perfect parking seldom required. Welcome to relaxed, quieter touring!

Just got to find more sites like Passage Farm within an hours drive from the Trowbridge area of Wiltshire.  I've been trawling through website, but I've been dismayed when I've read a lot of the reviews.  Probably going to try the Kings Arms at All Cannings as that would be good for a Friday night getaway in the summer as I don't finish work until quite late.

Not quite sure what your requirements are Catherine, but there are a lot of very nice CLs out there. occasionally people do nit pick on CL reviews, expecting similar standards to Club Sites. Some are like this, but not the majority, and to be honest, tend to be all the nicer for being a bit more relaxed. Requiring toilets and showers will limit your options, as these are a huge outlay with little return on a five van limit, but there are some sites out there. We used a lovely CL near Upton on Severn a couple of years ago, that had a nice clean toilet, and lovely garden pitches. I will try and find its name and get back to you!

Glad you enjoyed Passage Farm, Catherine. One to mark down for the future for us. Have you had a look at Alice Street Farm near From - very nice CL which might suit. Also, not a CL and maybe too close to home for you, have you ever tried Stowford Manor Farm? Haven't been for a couple of years now but it used to be one of our favourites for a quick getaway when both working. Quiet spot down by the river, basic WC and shower and great cream teas from the farmhouse! Happy

It is called The Willows, Upton on Severn, Worcestershire. Click on "see all reviews" and you can read both our review and Nellie the Hookers, who recommended this lovely site to us!

Hi TakeTheDog.  We need EHU and for them to be dog friendly, some hardstanding would be nice for Winter and Spring.  A toilet is a nice thing to have but not absolutely essential.

I tried to find greenacres as I'd seen it mentioned elsewhere but couldn't find it, has anyone got a link?  Will also look at the one at Upton as we like that area.
